- The Software Engineer’s Guidebook: Navigating Senior, Tech Lead, and Staff Engineer Positions at Tech Companies and Startups by Gergely Orosz
- The Tech Resume Inside Out: What a Good Developer Resume Looks Like by Gergely Orosz
- Grokking Simplicity: Taming complex software with functional thinking by Eric Normand
- The Last Lecture: A lecture by a man who knows it to be his last. Also available as a video.
Software
- Bitwarden - Password Manager. FOSS
- Obsidian - A cross platform notes app which stores notes as markdown. Supports any syncing solution that can sync a directory.
- Things - To-Do List for Mac & iOS
- Zed - A Text Editor
- Textual - IRC for macOS
- Hugo - A static site generator, very fast. This site is built using Hugo.
- TablePlus - A GUI for multiple relational databases. MacOS only. The free version is plenty enough.
- Yaak - An API (REST, GraphQL, SSE, and gRPC) client. Simple. Open Source.
- alto.daily - A habit tracker that uses Apple Reminders to track your habits.
Gadgets
- Sony WH-1000XM4: A great pair of noise cancelling headphones which I have been using for 3 years.
- Sony NW-A55 Walkman, a discontinued DAP. Really love that it has no internet connectivity. You’ll have to download and add songs to it.
- MacBooks. Have been using one or the other macbook since 2018. Love the battery life and I don’t hate the OS. It is good enough for my personal and professional work.
